Derry Dean, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Tharp, who has been in poor health for several months, died on Sunday morning at half past six. Funeral services at the Presbyterian Church on Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. F.E. Graves, of New Ross. Burial at Lizton Cemetery. The following obituary was read: "Derry Dean Tharp, the infant son of Alonzo R. and Hazel Walls Tharp, was born November 5, 1927, and departed this life January 3, 1929. There are some characteristics that stood out. He was of a lovable disposition and while his pure innocent life was one of unusual affliction, he was ever patient and a smile on his dear little face. He received all the care and devotion that loving, self-sacrificing parents could give him. Those left to mourn besides the father and mother and sister Helen are many other relatives and friends. And as this little life has left us we are comforted to know that the little one has entered the gates ajar. Our Heavenly Father had said: "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." "The broken links will all be complete, when we meet again at the Savior's feet; let our courage grow, our faith expand, 'til we meet again in the better land." A quartet consisting of Dr. and Mrs. H.H. Isaacs and Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Denk sang. The pallbearers were Mrs. P.L. Rusk, Mrs. Glascock, Mrs. Fred McNutt and Mrs. Fred Rice. The flower bearers were little Misses Mary Frances Galloway, Martha Miram Rusk, Harriet Dillman, Betty Hill and Geraldine Loman. Those present from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Williams and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Barlow Barker, of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Walls, of Pittsboro; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Parson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Walls, of Danville; Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Tharp, of Brownsburg and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Carver, of Crawfordsville. - kbz
