(Contributed) Almost four score years were allotted to America Terry, who was born in Montgomery County, Virginia, August 2, 1839, and died February 20, 1917. She departed this life at the home of her sister, Mrs. Missouri Miller, in New Market, where she had gone for a visit about three months and realized her case was critical, yet hoped to get well. All that loving hands could do was done but of no avail and we had to say goodbye. We know for brothers and sisters at most it is not long till we can clasp hands on the other shore, if we live faithful an she has lived. Her life was spent in the constant thought of comfort and welfare of others. "Aunt Meck" as she was familiarly called, was loved by all who knew her. To brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews it is like giving up a mother.
