Mr. William S. Templeton, Sr., 70, of Hillsboro died Monday morning, February 27, 1978, at his residence. He had been in failing health several years.
He was born March 4, 1907 at Hillsboro, the son of Glen and Elsie Bailey Templeton. He was married September 18, 1926 to Ruth Marie Frazier, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William S. Templeton, Jr. of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Pat) Wagoner of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Lowe of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Margaret Hesser of Hillsboro; three brothers, Thomas and Max Templeton both of Hillsboro and Lex Templeton of South Bend; four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. One step grandson preceded in death.
Mr. Templeton is a 1926 graduate of Hillsboro High School and the basketball team of which he was a member that year went to the Sweet Sixteen. He was a member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge #385. He retired in 1966 as a foreman at Harrison Steel Castings Co. where he had been employed for 30 years. – thanks to S
