Walter C. Taylor, 62, prominent farmer of the Browns’ Valley community, died at 6:50 o’clock Tuesday night at Culver Hospital.  Is death followed a three weeks’ illness with a complication of diseases. Born April 24, 1878 in Rockville, Mr. Taylor was the son of Charles W. and Mary E. Moore Taylor.  He married Myrtle Servies at Browns Valley on Nov 28, 196.  The deceased was a deacon, trustee and chorister of the Brown’s Valley Baptist Church.  He was also an active member of the Farm Bureau.  Surviving in addition to widow, are one son, Harold Taylor of Lafayette; the daughter, Mrs. DeElla Taylor Jackson of Louisville, Ky; one brother, HV Taylor of Clermont; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Glover of Ft. Harrison, Mrs. Etta Frame of Jamestown and Mrs. Ruth Penn of Brown’s Valley; two grandchildren, John Todd Taylor and Phillip Taylor Jackson; a son-in-law, Robert Jackson and daughter-in-law, Mildred Thompson Taylor.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Brown’s Valley Baptist Church at 2 o’clock in charge of Rev. Raymond Skelton. Interment will be in Indian Creek Hill cemetery. The body will be at the Noble Reeves funeral home at New Market until late Wednesday afternoon when it will be taken to the Taylor residence. It will then lie in state at the church for one hour preceding the service. - kbz

Brown’s Valley Jan 11 – Funeral services for Walter Taylor hose death occurred Tuesday at Culver hospital were held at the Brown’s Valley Baptist Church Friday afternoon with Rev. Raymond Skelton in charge. Burial was in the Indian Creek Cemetery.  Mrs. Raymond Skelton and Mrs. Dallas Rissler, accompanied at the piano by NR Walker, sang Somebody did a Golden Deed and The Haven of Rest.  Pall bearers were Joe Patton; Sam Grimes; John Bayless; Joe Sewell; Forest Hester and albert Pitcock. Those who had charge of the flowers included Molly Sayler; Ruth Goff; Ora Grimes; Lael Patton; Mrs. Smith Petty; Mrs. Joe Sewell; Lela Hester; Ruth Myers; Leota Frame; Alice Doyle; Elsie Johnson; Grace McMurray; Ethel Wilkinson; Patience Servies; Fern Patton; Maxine Patton; Helen Jene Myers and Mildred Todd. - kbz
