New Market, March 18.-Mrs. Nickietie E. Taylor, widow of Geo. M Taylor and one of the best known residents of this community died at her home here Wednesday morning at four o’clock. Death followed a serious illness of three weeks. The deceased was born near Christianburg, Va., on March 7, 1853, the daughter of Thomas and Susan Terry. She was united in marriage to George M. Taylor, a veteran of the was with Mexico, on May 5, 1875. She came to Montgomery county two years later and had resided in the home in which she died since that time. Mrs. Taylor who was known to everyone as “Aunt Nickietie” had a wide acquaintance and was admired by the entire community for her sterling character. She was an active member of the New Market Methodist church. The survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Missouri Miller of New Market, Mrs. Lillie Tressle, of Darlington, and Mrs. Dora Curtis of Terre Haute and two brothers, Joseph Terry of Ceylon, Minn. And John Terry of Ladoga. Another sister died about a year ago. The funeral services will be held at the New Market Methodist church Friday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock in charge of the Rev. Keiser. Burial will take place in the Indian Creek cemetery. - kbz
