Ladoga April 2 -- James F TAYLOR a well known resident of Ladoga and widely known throughout the state as a breeder and trainer of fine horses died Sunday morning at 6:20 at his home here of dropsy of which ailment he had been a long time and patient sufferer. Mr. Taylor had passed the last 7 months in an invalid chair. He bore his sufferings with fortitude and the end came peacefully. The deceased was born in Montgomery Co KY Nov 9, 1844 a son of Augustus and Armetia Taylor. The family moved to Montgomery County, Indiana when James was but a babe and his life has been spent here. He was married to Elizabeth GOODBAR CROW, Nov 2, 1865 and to this union one son, John W. Taylor was born. In his early life, Mr. Taylor engaged in farming, but in the last 34 years he has been a breeder and trainer of fine horses and his fame in this line spread to the far corners of the country. Many of the famous speed and show animals of the country were from the Taylor stables. The deceased was one of a large family of children but all with the exceptions of his brother Joe, have preceded him in death. His wife died two years ago. Of the immediate family, he is survived by his son and wife and two grandchildren. James F. Taylor was a man of pleasing personality and made friends in whatever environment he was placed. He was a kind and indulgent parent and with all a very likable man. The funeral service will be held Tues afternoon at 2:30 at the Presbyterian Church in which organization he was a faithful member. The service will be in charge of Rev. WN Clark. Burial in the Cemetery. - kbz
