HILLSBORO—Mrs. Effie Taylor, prominent in church activities for many years, here, died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday in the Carmen Nursing Home in Crawfordsville after an illness of two months. Mrs. Taylor, 87, had been organist, vocalist and Sunday School teacher for many years at the Methodist Church here. She was a charter member of its WSCS and she, along with her parents, was active in the planning and construction of the new church building in 1903. She was born in Hillsboro Aug. 12, 1880, a daughter of Joseph W. and Rosalie (Bailey) Hayes. Her father was a well-known merchant and banker here. She married Thomas L. Taylor at Covington Nov. 2, 1900. Surviving is her husband; a daughter, Mrs. John (Josephine) Lowe, and a niece, Miss Frances P. Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home here with Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday.   --typed by Walt W
