Taylor - Asa

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal, 14 March 1902

Word has been received here announcing the death of Prof. Asa A. Taylor in Roswell, New Mexico, on last Tuesday, his twenty-eighth birthday. Prof. Taylor was a student at Wabash college, graduating in 1893. From here he went to Tusculum college, Tenn., where he filled the chair of biology. His health failing him, he was sent by the college to Cuba in the hope of the climate there benefiting him. Receiving little benefit here, he went to Roswell, N. M., but his health did not Improve. He was buried there Wednesday at his request. His home was in Goldsmith, Ind. While here Asa Taylor was a prime favorite both with the student body and especially with the faculty, as he was an exceptionally bright student, having done considerable extra work under Prof, Thomas, in his chosen line. His early demise will be universally regretted by all who knew him. - thanks to Kim H
