Oral C. Tate, 75, of Princeton, father of Wayne Tate, business manager of the Crawfordsville Community Schools, died Thursday afternoon in Gibson Memorial Hospital at Princeton. He was a retired employe of the Southern Railroad. Mr. Tate was a member of the Baldwin Heights Tabernacle Church. He was born at Galatia, Ill., on Oct. 12, 1900, a son of Hubbard and Berttie Tate. Surviving besides his son are his widow, Lorena; two other sons, John of Plainfield and Jim of Princeton; a stepson, Robert Goodson of Vancouver, Wash., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Larry Robb of Princeton; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Colvin & Son Mortuary at Princeton with the Revs. Raymond Denton and Paul Stormont officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-9 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
