Mrs. Margaret Alice Tate, 49, of 920 Kentucky St died Saturday at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis where she had been a patient for 1 1/2 months. Born Nov 11, 1916 in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Alva Braden and Dorothy Lanpher Beecher. Her father was Journal-Review circulation manager many years. She married Johnny Tate March 13, 1939 in Crawfordsville (they divorce 1956 but may have remarried since says he is survivor). A member of the First Baptist Church and Alamo Order of Eastern Star, she attendee Crawfordsville schools and had been employed at Steel Industry five years. Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Barbar Jean Flaurr of Crawfordsville; a son, Johnny Tate of Crawfordsville; an aunt, Mrs. Francis Lanpher of Indianapolis; an uncle, Herschel Beecher of near Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Leter Cox and Miss Barbara Beecher both of Indianapolis; a half-sister, mrs. Susan McClain of Crawfordsville; her stepmother, Mrs. Helen Beecher of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Milo Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The Alamo Eastern Star will observe memorial rites 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
