Crawfordsville Oct 31 – John W. Tate, 74, retired farmer, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday at his home here. Born in Wingate, he married Ida E> Carve rin 1890. He was a member of Union Chapel Church. Surviving are the widow: 10 children, Albert Tate, Mrs. Rosie Layton and Mrs. Goldie Layton of Indianapolis; Mrs. Katie Rice, New Market; Charles Tate, Alamo; and Mrs. Ethel Steele, Mrs. Ida Carroll, Mrs. Martha Miller, Mrs. Minnie Stephens and John Tate all of Crawfordsville, with two brothers, Martin, Alamo and RD Tate, of near Union Chapel. Friends may call at the family residence until noon Friday. Funeral at 2 p.m. Friday from Proffitt Funeral Home, Rev. Mr. Collins officiating. Burial, Masonic cemetery. - jkbz
