Tapp - Rebecca Keller

Source: Crawfordsville Journal, Nov 2, 1889

Mrs. Rebecca TAPP, relict of the late Samuel Tapp, died on Tuesday morning at half past 4 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. James F. Boots, 725 S. Grant Ave. Samuel Tapp and Rebecca Tapp were both natives of Shenandoah Co, Va. Mrs. Tapp was of German origin, her maiden name being Rebecca Keller and she was the 5th of 9 children, 3 of whom survive her. At the time of her death she was 87 years and 5 months old. She came with her husband to this County as early as 1834 and has lived in it ever since. She has seen the wilderness of pioneer days bloom into homes and farms and hamlets and towns which mark the advance of civilization. Her long life was one of perfect love and kindness. She united with the Methodist Church more than 35 years ago and no purer Christian wife, mother and neighbor ever lived. Peace to her ashes. The funeral announcement is the same as made yesterday. Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. - kbz
