Covington, Oct. 27---Riffle F. (Rip) Tanner, 51, died at his home here Saturday night at 8 o'clock. He had returned to his home only two weeks ago after spending several weeks at the Veterans hospital in Indianapolis. Born in Fountain county, Oct. 4, 1896, he was the son of Jerome and Millie Ewbanks Tanner. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are the widow, Katie; a son, Gerald, at home; the mother, Millie E. Tanner, of Indianapolis; three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at the Crumley funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. B. I. Minton in charge. Burial will be in Mt. Hope cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion.   --typed by Walt W
