John S. Thompson, prominent farmer of Waynetown died at Culver Hospital shortly after midnight Wednesday of blood poisoning. Mr. Thompson was brougth to the local hospital from his home south of Waynetown on April 10th with a badly infected little finger on his right hand. It was necessary to amputate the finger. His entire system became affected, however, and death resulted. He was born at Waynetown July 13, 1863 and spent the majority of his life in the western part of the county. He was well known. Mr. THompson was a member of the Waynetown Masonic Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star, Knights of Pythias, Waynetown Detective Assn and of the Royal Arch Chapter and Council of Masons at Crawfordsville. Surviving are the widow; a son, Ray Thompson of Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. Cline who lives east of Waynetown and brother, Albert Thompson of Waynetown. The funeral services will be held at the home near Waynetown Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in charge of the Rev. OL Chivington. Burial will take place in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
