Charles Benjamin TAYLOR was born Oct 6, 1865 in Guthrie Co, Iowa and departed this life July 23, 1948 at the advanced age of 83 years 9 months 17 days. He was the son of George Samuel and Hepthzibah Jane Humphrey Taylor. On September 13, 1893 he was united in marriage with Mary Lucinda Milligan. To this union 3 children were born: Robert Irwin; Margaret Rice and Dorothy Elizabeth Haymaker. Margaret Rice preceded him to the home beyond on August 28, 1898. Mr. Taylor was an active and faithful member, and an elder in the Waveland Presbyterian Church. On Dec 10, 1941 he was presented an emblem by the Indiana Grand Lodge honoring his 50 year membership in the Masonic Lodge. He was made a 32 degree mason April 13, 1920 in the Ft. Wayne Consistory, where his membership has remained. He was Post Master both in Waveland Lodge and Warsaw F & AM. Almost his entire life has been spent in and around Waveland, except a period of 25 years residence in Winona Lake, Ind. Mr. Taylor was always active and interested in church and civic affairs and he will be sadly missed by his many friends and acquaintances. Funeral services were conducted at the machledt Funeral Home Sunday afternoon July 25 the Rev. James O'Neal office. Pallbearers were: Clarence, Richard, Roland, Elton Milligan; Clyde Kesslar and Dean Cronkhite. Those attending from out of town were: Mrs. Ella McCoy; Mrs. LT Whitlow; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Saxton of Indianapolis; Mrs. WC Butcher, Lebanon; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fisher, Martinsville; Mrs. Myrtle Ball, Phillip Ball, Mrs. Ruby Milligan; Milford and Dale Milligan of Crawfordsville. - transcribed by kbz
