Caswell Allen Tague was born May 21, 1841 in Ripley County near Versailles, Indiana and passed away April 26, 1928 at the home of his son, Arthur, at Waveland at the age of 86 years 11 months 5 days. All of his early life was spent in the vicinity of Jefferson & Ripley Counties where he followed the occupation of a farmer. Feb 27, 1864 he was united in marriage with Miss Rosanna Grimes, the daughter of a prominent Baptist minister and through the influence of this Christen home he joined the Baptist Church and for nearly 70 years was a most devoted member of the church, removing his membership to this church when he came here. In 1896 they removed their family to this community and from that time have been faithful citizens of Waveland. His wife preceded him in death, March 8, 1916 and since that time he has made his home with his son Arthur. He has been in failing health for the last two years but had only been bed fast since Saturday being with an attack of influenza. He was ever a devoted father and grandfather and always ready to lend a helping hand to the children. To their union were born 11 children 5 of whom have preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss 6 children: Morton of New Market; John of Byron; Mrs. Harmon Zachary of Waveland; Allen of Ligonier; Arthur with whom he lived and Mrs. John Hann of Brazil; one brother, Marshall Tague of Darlington; 41 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and a host of friends. – transcribed by kbz

Caswell A. Tague, whose death was noted last week was one of the oldest and most respected citizen of this community. He was the son of Squire and Ann Pullen Tague and was born near Madison nearly 87 years ago but has lived in this community almost a life time. His wife died several years ago and he has since made his home with his son, Arthur. The living children are: John Morton, Allen, Arthur, Mrs. John Hann, Mrs. Harmon Zachary. Those dead: Joseph, Hattie, Eliza, Agnes and Jarvis. Funeral services at the home on Saturday afternoon were conducted by rev. Hugo. Burial at Mt. Moriah. – transcribed by kbz
