Crawfordsville Aug 6 – Struck by an automobile Samuel D. Symmes, 80 years old, former Township Trustee and former Weights & Measures Inspector for Montgomery County died a few hours later last night.

Crawfordsville Aug 6 – Samuel D. Symmes, 80, father of Frank Symmes, an Indianapolis attorney was dead here today from injuries received when he was struck by an automobile drive by Roy keller, 22. He was former trustee of Union Township and later a Weights & Measures Inspector of Union Township.
