Switzer - Hannah Bell Ball

Mrs. Hannah Bell Switzer 96 of Waynetown died at 10 p.m. Thursday at the Rest Haven Home in Crawfordsville. She had been in failing health for four years and a patient at the home 18 months. Mrs. Switzer was born June 11, 1869 3 miles southeast of Waynetown at the Ball Homestead. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Jane Bell Ball. She ws married Aug 26, 1888 to James Switzer at Crawfordsville. She was a member of the Chrstian Union Church since 1916 and was a member of the Ladies Aid of that church. She was educated at the Ball School at which her son, Charles eventually taught. All 8 of her children were also educated at the school. Surviving are 4 sons, Charles and Dallas of Lafayette, Clifford of Rt 1 Lafayette and Orville of Waynetown; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Schenck and Mrs. Chauncey Ellis of Waynetown; Mrs. Carroll Barnett of Rt 2, Waynetown and Mrs. Harold Quillin of Crawfordsville; 17 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gegner of Crawfordsville and a brother Charles Ball of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sons and a great granddaughter, four brothers and a sister. The funeral will beheld at 2 p.m. Monday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. John R. Servies and Rev. Ralph Watson officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.
