Wallace -- Mrs. Dora Switzer, 86, a former resident of Wallace and Russellville, died Friday in St. Elizabeth's Hospital at Danville, Ill. She had been a patient there 9 days in failing health six months. Mrs. Switzer had been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Vernon Gardner at Danville. She attended school No. 11 near her home in the Horseshoe community west of Cayuga. During her early teens she became a member of the Friends Church. Born June 14, 1880, in the Horseshoe community, she was a daughter of Jack and Sarah Gould Youmans. She was married Oct 4, 1900 to Charley Switzer. He died Nov 1, 1955. Survivors include the daughter with whom she made her home; three grandchildren, Charles B. Goff of New Market; Mrs. Rudy (Alice) Merryman of Hillsboro and Mrs. Edwin L. Brown of Tampa, FL; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, 4 stepgrandchildren, 16 great step grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at the Lutheran Church east of Wallace with Rev. Joseph Youmans of Noblesville officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the residence of Mrs. Merryman one mile north of Wallace on Ind 341 after noon Saturday.
