Swisher - Mable Shoaf

Mable Louise Swisher, 75, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Crawfordsville, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday in St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. Mrs. Swisher worked as an assembly worker at G.M. Chevrolet for 18 years, retiring in 1987. She previously worked at R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. for 20 years as a book binder operator. She has resided in Indianapolis for 34 years. She was a member of the United Auto workers Local 23. She was born July 24, 1922, at Crawfordsville to Orville and Virgie Pearl Hunt Shoaf. She married Lawrence McGreath. He survives. Surviving are two daughters, Terri J. Lyles, of Indianapolis and Cindy Garrigus of Greencastle; a brother, Orville Shoaf Jr. of Crawfordsville; a sister, Nina Young of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Lee Ellis and Orville Ellis. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday in Wilson St. Pierre Chapel of the Chimes at Indianapolis with the Rev. Ronald Neff officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery at Crawfordsville. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. today at the chapel.- kbz
