James L. Swisher, 70, of 2109 Indianapolis Road, died at 6:59 p.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. . Swisher lived most of his life in Montgomery County and attended Yountsville schools. He was a retired pipe fitter and co-owned Swisher and Swant Well Drilling. He was also a commercial pilot and instructor. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose lodges, Local 157 Pipe Fitters Union, and the Civil Air Patrol. He was born Feb. 4, 1919 at Hoopston, Ill. To James William and Rozilla Wright Swisher. He married Pearl Davis on Nov. 20, 1958. She survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Jack Davis of Frankfort; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Noma Dinius of Alamo, Mrs. Betty Shrout of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Misha Binford of Darlington; 16 stepgrandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. A half sister is deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Jim Ireland officiating. Burial will be in Masonic South Cemetery at Crawfordsville. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. - thanks to Kathy
