Swisher - Arthur

NEW ROSS – Arthur A. Swisher, 84, sustained a fatal heart attack Monday morning while at a farm he owned in the Beckville area about 10 miles east of Crawfordsville. He was alone at the time of the fatal seizure and his body was found by an unidentified passerby. Mr. Swisher, who resided at Rt. 2, Jamestown, had farmed in Montgomery and Boone counties all of his life. He was a member of the North Christian Church at Advance. Born Oct. 1, 1881, near Beckville, he was a son of George and Eva Bowman Swisher. He was married Sept. 21, 1902, to Bertha Ellen Sutton. She died Jan. 31, 1963. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Byron Sering of Rt. 2, Jamestown, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Bruce of Barberton, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery near Beckville. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
