LINDEN -- Edward J. Swick, 89, a life-long resident of the Linden and Romney communities, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday at Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been ill several months and hospitalized for a week. Born Sept. 5, 1876, at Linden, the deceased was the son of John and Mary L. Vogel Swick. He was twice married, first to Lula Stuler in 1901. She died in 1943. His second marriage was on Feb. 28, 1945, to Luta Wilson. Mr. Swick was a farmer residing on Rt. 1, Linden. He previously had owned a garage in Romney. He was educated in the Romney Schools and was a member of the Romney Methodist Church. Surviving are the widow, Luta; a stepson, Miles Westfall of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lala Senesffkey of Lorenia, Mich.; a brother, Raymond F. Swick of New Richmond, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Helm Funeral Chapel in Linden in charge of Rev. Richard Bowman, pastor of the Romney Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery at Romney. Friends may call at the funeral chapel after 2 p. m. Friday
