New Market, July 4 – Mrs. Mary Louise Swearingen died at 2:15 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at her farm home, one mile east of New Market. She had been in failing health for several years with a complications of diseases. Mrs. Swearingen was born Sept 15, 1873 in Dewitt, Neb the daughter of James W. and Martha ann Brown. She was married to Hugh Swearingen oct 19, 1899 and was a member of New Market Methodist Church. Survivors besides the husband include four sons: Vincent, Albert and Herbert all of near New Market and Austin of Indianapolis; a sister, Miss Sarah E. Brown and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Swearingen home with Rev. LP Green and Rev. Russell Rice in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery at Crawfordsville. - kbz
