Swearingen - Homer

Hillsboro - Homer Swearingen 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Swearingen died at his home here Saturday morning about 3 o'clock from pneumonia. He suffered a severe cold from exposure while playing with some children about two weeks ago and a few days later pneumonia developed. He was born in this vicinity where he spent all of his brief life. He leaves to mourn his death his parents, three brothers, Frank and Orval both of whom have been in France over a year, and were among the first boys of this vicinity to enlist in the service. A younger brother, Guy remains at home and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Walker and Mrs. Sylvia Noggles both of this place. -- kbz
