Oley O. Swank, 84, native of Montgomery County and since 1898 a resident of Noblesville, died suddenly at 5 a.m. Friday at his home. He was born April 18, 1882. He was married in 1904 to Sarah Kinder, who died in 1938. In 1957 he was wed to Lula Swank, who survives. Mr. Swank owned and operated a grocery store and also had been employed at Ball Bros. Mfg. Co. and Union Sanitary Mfg. Co. at Noblesville. He was a member of the Ninth Street Methodist Church and had been active in the Redmen’s Lodge. Surviving besides the wife are three children, Franklin J. Swank of Anderson, Mrs. Fayola Wills of Crawfordsville and Mrs. LaBetta Richardson of Noblesville; two stepchildren, C. Clifford Swank of Waynetown and Mrs. Roy Meharry of New Richmond; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a sister, Mrs. Elva Noland of Indianapolis. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Coaltrin Funeral Home in Noblesville, where friends may call. Rev. Willard Doyle will officiate, with burial in Crownland Cemetery at Noblesville.
