WAYNETOWN — John P. Swank, 73, a life-time farmer in the Waynetown community, died suddenly early Wednesday morning at his home in Waynetown from a cerebral hemorrhage. Born in Elmdale, Sept. 26, 1881, Mr. Swank was the son of Daniel and Mary Harmon Swank. He was married Aug. 13, 1902, to Lulu Grenard, at the home of the bride. Mr. Swank was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church. Survivors include the widow; a son, Clifford Swank of Waynetown; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Meharry of New Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Humphreys of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Reta Harshbarger of Hillsboro; three grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. A brother and one son preceded Mr. Swank in death. The son, Harlan Swank, died in 1920. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Grenard and Servies Mortuary with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine as the officiating minister. Burial will be made in the Waynetown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
