-- James G. SWANK, 69, died at the home of his son, Lloyd Swank at Waveland at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 1959. Born April 9, 1890, he was the son of William and Abithy Jane Swank. He was married Dec 27, 1911, in Crawfordsville to Bessie Mae Todd. She died Nov 22, 1958. Mr. Swank was employed at a Crawfordsville Brick Plant most of his life. He also worked at Indianapolis 2 1/2 years. Mr. Swank was a member of the Church of Christ and had lived in Crawfordsville the past 30 years. Survivors include the son; a daughter, Mrs. Nina Vavas of Crawfordsville; a brother, Elmer Swank of Yountsville; a sister, Mrs. Lulu Mason of near Crawfordsville; 7 grandchildren and two greats. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and two sisters. Funeral rites will be Friday at 2:00 at Bright Funeral Home, burial in the Masonic Cemetery. -- kbz

Born April 9, 1890, he was a son of William and Abithy Jane Swank. He was married Dec 27, 1911 in Crawfordsville to Bessie Mae Todd. She died November 22, 1958. Mr. Swank was employed at a Crawfordsville brick plant most of his life. He also worked at Indianapolis two and one-half years. He retired about two years ago. Mr. Swank was a member of the Church of Christ and had lived here the past 30 years. Survivors include the son; a daughter, Mrs. Nina Vavas of Crawfordsville; a brother, Elmer of Yountsville; a sister, Mrs Lula Mason of near Crawfordsville; 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Bright Funeral Home. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.
