Ben F. Swank, 70, Rt 3, Crawfordsville, a farmer in the Yountsville community died Thursday morning at his home after suffering a heart attack. Born Nov 2, 1886, near Wingate, Mr. Swank, who was a farmer in Montgomery County most of his life, was the son of WIlliam and Abby Swank. He married Velma Layne in Crawfordsville in 1910. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Chester Swank of Waveland; Byron Swank of Crawfordsville; and Donald Swank of Lafayette; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Kidd of Crawfordsville; and Miss Helen Swank at home; three brothers: James Swank of Crawfordsville; Clyde Swank of near Crawfordsville and Elmer Swank of Yountsville; a sister, Mrs. Lula Mason of Youngs Chapel neighborhood and six grandchildren. Two sisters, a brother and a granddaughter preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Proffitt & Brown Funeral Home. Burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Rev. John R. Servies will be the officiaitng minister. Last rites for Ben F. Swank, Rt 3, Crawfordsville who died Thursday were held Sunday afternoon at the Proffitt & Brown Funeral Home. Rev. John Servies officiated and interment was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Layne, Forrest Lawrence and Ralph Swank, Marion Stevens and Robert Mason. Honorary pallbearers were Eugene Layne and Jefferson Swank. Mrs. Laurabelle Moyer and Mrs. Mary Whittington sang Rock of Ages and The Old Rugged Cross accompanied by Mrs. Nellie Shepherd. -- thanks Steve M
