Asbury Swank, a former resident of Montgomery County and Chalmers, died Friday afternoon at the Home Hospital in Lafayette where he had been taken for treatment. Mr. Swank was the son of Asbury and Matilda Swank. He was born Feb 7, 1857 being 63 years of age. He was married Sept 7, 1881.  He was one of a family of 9 children being a twin brother of Smith Swank who died in Crawfordsville in April.  He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Earl Short and Mrs. Earl Shank of Chalmers; two grandchildren and two brothers, David and Dr WG Shank (sick – Swank).  After funeral services at the home Sunday morning at 10 burial took place at the New Richmond Cem.  – kbz

Mr. Swank was the son of Asbury and Matilda Swank. He was born Feb 7, 1857 being 63 years of age. He was married to Ruth Tribby Sept 7, 1881.  He was one of a family of nine children, being a twin brother of Smith Swank, who died in Crawfordsville in April. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Earl Short and Mrs. Earl Shank of Chalmers; two grandchildren and two brothers, David and Dr. WG Swank. After funeral services at the home Sunday morning at 10:30 burial will be at New Richmond Cemetery. – kbz
