Ben Surface, 43, died in Hospital - Benson W. "Ben" Surface, 43, of Rt. 7, Crawfordsville died at 5:25 a.m. Thursday in Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient one week. Mr. Surface was a farmer. he was a member of the New Market Chursitan Church and graduate of New Marekt High School. He was born in Montgomery County Aug 16, 1925 a son of Clyde and Verna Buck Surface. He was married Aug 16, 1945 in Crawfordsville to Jean Moore. Surviving are his wife; his mother, two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Jean) Johnson of near Crawfordsville and Lu Ann at home; a son, Paul B. of Rt. 1, Roachdale, and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Collins and Mrs. Mary Demoret both of Crawfordsville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ruby Cook and nephew, Teddy Lee Cook. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reeves Funeral Home in New Market with Rev. William Schalk officiating. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery, Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home. - kbz
