Hillsboro - Fred Dunn SUMNER, former resident of Hillsboro, died Thursday night at his home, 1215 North Gilbert Street, in Danville, Illinois. He had been ill for about a year. Mr. Sumner was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Austin
Sumner. His father operated a hardware store at Hillsboro for a number of years. For a number of years, Mr. Sumner, a mechanical engineer, was associated with the Len Streube architecture firm at Danville. Previous
to that time, he had been employed as a salesman for the International Heaterh Company. He w as a member of the Elks Lodge at Danville. He had lived there for 30 years. The survivors include the wife, Mrs. Cecelia McComas Sumner, of Danville; a daughter, Miss Mary Katherine Sumner, a teacher in the Lincoln School at Danville, and a sister, Mrs. Harry Johnstone, of Ottumwa, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at the Berhalter Funeral Home in Danville Saturday afternoon at 2 with Rev. CD Motsett, pastor of St. Paul's Catholic Church in charge. Burial in St. Patrick's cemetery, at Danville. Mr. Sumner was a nephew of the late Wallace Coons, former editor of the Crawfordsville Journal-Review. - kbz
