Summers - Zelpha Hamm

Zelpha Summers, 79, a resident of the Wallace community on Rt. 1, Hillsboro, died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday April 9 at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. She had been a patient one day. In her early life, she taught school at the former Grange Corner School in Parke County. She was a member of the Wallace Christian Church and Ladies Aide. She was the longest living member of the Church with a membership of 68 years. She also was a member of Wallace Eastern Star Chapter 15 and Cabalistic Club of the Eastern Star. In 1924, she graduated from Wallace HS and attended Central Norman College, Danville, Indiana and Indiana Sate University, Terre Haute. She was born Nov 26, 1905, west of Alamo, the daughter of Everett and Ura Bowman Hamm. She married J. Marx Summers of Wallace June 1, 1929. He survives.
