A telegram from the hospital at Indianapolis announced  the death of Miss Augusta Swisher Wednesday.  The death must have been  quite sudden as she was reported better this week.  Miss Swisher is the  young lady who is said to have been deranged through the absorption of  electricity through her nervous system.

Miss Augusta Swisher died Tuesday the 3rd at 9 o'clock at the insane asylum. The remains were sent back for burial. Services at Young's Chapel by Rev. Shuey. Interment at the Tap Grave Yard. She was a member of the Christian Church and her friends mourn.

Augusta Swisher was born Oct 6, 1868 and died February 4, 1891, aged 22 years 3 months 29 days. Miss Swisher was a consistent member of the Christian Church having become a member five years ago. She was a devout Christian, a loving daughter always obeying father and mother, being always affectionate and kind. She was of a quiet and loving disposition, winning friends wherever she went, highly respected by all who knew her and as one of her friends said, “to know her was to love her.”  The funeral took place on Feb 6 from Young’s Chapel conducted by Elder TJ Shuey. There was an immense crowd of people present. Mr. Shuey spoke from these words, “And they shall walk with me in white for they are worthy.

Several from here (Kirkpatrick) attended the funeral of Mrs. Augusta Swisher at Young’s Chapel last Friday. Gusta had lived in our midst some months and everybody was sorry to hear of her death.

Miss Augusta Swisher, the young lady who was sent from this county to the Insane Asylum at Indianapolis some two weeks ago died at that place Wednesday morning. The remains were returned to the unfortunate girl’s home near Kirkpatrick on Friday. – kbz
