Robert A. Stubbins, 85, 816 W. Taylor St, died at 5 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital after a short illness. He became ill three days ago and was taken to the hospital Wednesday night. Mr. Stubbins had lived in Kokomo the last 25 years and had made many friends here. He was born April 28, 1871, in Montgomery County the son of Joseph Lindsey and Mary Jane (Larsh) Stubbins. He leaves with the widow, Mrs. Edith Hall Stubbins, three daughters: Mrs. John W. Green, Bloomington, Ill; Mrs. R. Wendell Harrison of Chicago and Mrs. David A. Morrison, Bloomington, Ind. There are two grandchildren: Mrs. C. Raymond Bartlett, Bloomington, Ind and John W. Green, Jr. Cambridge, Ohio. A brother, Harry Stubbins of Crawfordsville is deceased. A former Wabash College student, Mr. Stubbins was a member of Boulevard Lodge of the Masonic Order in Chicago for 35 years. He held membership in the Presbyterian Church in Alamo, Ind. Most of his active life had been spent as a salesman and he had been a state employee. He was long active in the Republican party. The body is at the Jacobs Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements await contact with the daughters, Mrs. Green and Mrs. Morrison who are travelling in the West.
