Stuart- Vernon Perley - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

Vernon Perley Stuart of Danville, Illinois, age 83, died Saturday afternoon, April 4, in Lakeview Medical Center at Danville. He was born at Covington, March 3, 1898, the son of James S. and Daisy Romine Stuart. He first married Dorothy Miller, who died in 1948. July 22, 1950, he married Rose Gollagher Leisure, who survives.

  Stuart was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, Olive Branch Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem at Danville. He graduated from Veedersburg High School in 1916, attended Wabash College and Indiana State Normal. He worked for the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad from 1922 until retiring in 1965.

  Other survivors include a son, James M. of Danville, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Vera Lucas of Danville; and four grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Pape Memorial Home in Danville with burial in Sunset Memorial Park at Danville. – thanks to S
