Gifford Norman Strickler, 56, of Waynetown, a former Anderson resident, died Saturday afternoon at his home after a six-month illness. The World War II veteran was born in Williamsport and was engaged in farming. Surviving with the widow, Bessie Walters Strickler, are three daughters, Mrs. Norma Jean Zachary of Indianapolis, Janet Strickler, at home, and Mrs. Ruth Davis, of Lafayette; two sons, Donald and Norman Michael Strickler, both at home; a brother, Eugene Strickler of Williamsport; two sisters, Mrs. Ethelda Warner and Mrs. Doris Thompson, both of Attica; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the home in Waynetown. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Waynetown Christian Church with the Rev. Henry Spidham of the Veedersburg Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with military rites. The Elbert C. Frazee Funeral Home of Middletown is in charge of the arrangements.
