John Stover, one of the oldest settlers of Montgomery County, died at his home in Darlington yesterday evening at 7 o’clock. He was eighty seven years old, having been born in Tennessee in 1805. At the age of six years he removed with his parents to this county, where he has lived ever since. He and his brother built Stover’s dam and the mill which for years stood by it. His only surviving relatives are his brother, Isaac, and his sister, Mrs. Dunbar, who is the mother of Mrs. W. W. Morgan, of this city. The funeral will occur tomorrow at 10 o’clock.
