Wilson Stout, aged 84 years, died yesterday morning at his home, some three miles west of the city. The funeral will occur tomorrow at eleven o’clock at Wesley Chapel, Rev. G. W. Stafford officiating. Mr. Stout came to this county from Fayette County 45 years ago and resided on the same farm that whole time. He was the father of nine children, all living and leaves as well numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Stout was for 65 years a member of the Methodist Church and was a Republican since the organization of the party. He was an honorable and honored citizen and his loss will be keenly felt in the community in which he lived so long and well. - s

Wilson Stout was born in Pennsylvania July 30, 1807. When about six years of age, his father was drowned, leaving a wife and twelve children. Soon after his father’s death, the family moved to Butler County, Ohio. At the age of 24 years, on May 28, 1830, he was joined in holy matrimony to Julia Esther Turner. They have lived together for over sixty one years. Soon after their marriage they moved to Fayette County, this state, and lived there till February, 1848. Leaving a large number of friends, he moved to Montgomery County where he has lived ever since. He has been a faithful member of the M. E. Church for fifty years. They had born unto them nine children, four boys and five girls. He leaves surviving him an aged wife and the nine children, thirty grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. His age at his death, which occurred March 4th, was 84 years, 7 months, and 14 days. He was a devoted husband and a loving father. He had survived all his father’s family and first to go out of his own family. By special request of the deceased, Rev. G. W. Stafford conducted the funeral services Sunday morning at Wesley Chapel, six miles west of the city. Rev. John M. Stafford, his pastor, being present and taking part in the services. -s
