Linnsburg - Alvin Joel Stout, 93 of this community died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where he had been a patient since suffering a hip fracture in a fall at his home on Christmas morning. A native of near Wesley, he was a son of Joel and Lucinda Switzer Stout and was born June 6, 1872. He was the last of a family of 10 chidlren. Mr. Stout was married April 5, 1895 to Louisa Pogue. She died Nov 27, 1949. He farmed most of his life, moving to the Mace community upon retirement in 1931 and later to Linnsburg. Surviving are four sons, Kenneth P. and Leslie A, the latter Crawfordsville city fire chief, both of C'ville and Wallace J. and Darrel A of Mace, 10 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services are announced for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Greeley of the mace methodist Church officiating and burial at Mace K of P cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. - kbz
