Veedersburg -- Charles Alvin Stonebraker, 80, a retired farmer in the shale pit at the Veedersburg Brick Co. died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in his home. He had been ill two years. He was born Oct 5, 1882, in Wingate and his parents were James and May Livingston Stonebraker. He first married Lydia Lightle. After her death, he married Edith Shirley. Survivors include the widow, 7 sons, Morris, Larry and Charles of Veedersburg, James of Covington, William and Jack of Kingman and Carl of Ft. Riley, KS; four daughters, Mrs. Izetta Douglas and Mrs. Beverly Keeling of Veedersburg; Mrs. Ona Mornout of Covington and Mrs. Eleanor West of Waynetown; a brother, Ory of Danville, Ill; a sister, Roxie Schaffer of Chicago and 17 grandchildren. The body was taken to the Fishero Funeral in Veedersburg - funeral arrangements are pending
