Mrs. Martha E. Stockdale, 82, resident of Waynetown vicinity died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Phillip Hauk, Waynetown. She had been ill 2 weeks, following a paralytic stroke. The body was taken to the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home and remained there until the service at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Harry Davis, Indianapolis officiating. Burial in Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Stockdale was born March 1, 1863 in the Ingersoll Chapel Community south of Hillsboro, daughter of Thomas & Mary Ingersoll Livengood. She was twice married and preceded in death by both husbands. She was a member of the Christian Church at Waynetown. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Hauk, Waynetown; Mrs. Virginia C. Robb, C'ville and Mrs. C.M. James, West Lafayette; a granddaughter, Mrs. C.O. Rader, Pittsburgh. One son, Paul T. Stockdale died Jan 26, 1942.

Waynetown, Dec 27 – Mrs. Martha E. Stockdale, 82, died Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Phillip Hauk, Waynetown. She had been ill two weeks following a stroke. Born near Waynetown she was a lifelong resident of this community and was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving with Mrs. Hauk are two other daughters, Mrs. Virginia C. Robb, Crawfordsville and Mrs. CM James, West Lafayette. Body at Grenard and Servies Funeral Home for service Saturday at 2 p.m.
