Charles F. Stockdale, 65, a farmer in the Hillsboro community most of his life, died Wednesday morning in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville where he had been a surgery patient six weeks. Born April 8, 1893, near Hillsboro, Mr. Stockdale was the son of George and Ella Booe Stockdale. He married Ruby Hershberger Nov. 4, 1917. She died last May 22. Mr. Stockdale was a member of the New Liberty Christian Church near Hillsboro. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marie Walters and Mrs. Marian Gustus, both of Hillsboro; a sister, Mrs. Vereta Coats, also of Hillsboro; four brothers, Arthur Stockdale of Danville, Ill., Guy and Paul Stockdale of Veedersburg, and Ralph Stockdale of Crawfordsville, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the New Liberty Christian Church, with burial at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Rev. C. E. Smith, pastor of the church, will officiate. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the rites. Friends may call at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro Thursday afternoon and Thursday evening.

Charles F. Stockdale, 65 of Hillsboro died at 5:30 a.m. Wed Nov 19, 1958 in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville where he had been a patient six weeks. A farmer and life resident of the Hillsboro vicinity, Mr. Snyder was born April 8, 1893 in Hillsboro, the son of George and Ella Booe Stockdale. He was married November 14, 1918 to Ruby Hershberger who preceded him in death May 22, 1958. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Maire Willis and Mrs. Marian Gustus, both of Hillsboro; a sister, Mrs. Vereta Coats of Hillsobro; four brothers, Arthur of Danville; Ralph of Crawfordsville; and Guy and Paul both of Veedersburg and two grandchildren, Mr. Stockdale was a member of the new Liberty Christian Church. The body is at the Crumly Funeral Home in Hillsboro where the family will receive friends Thursday afternoon and evening. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at New Liberty Christian Church with Rev. CE Smith officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cem. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services.
