John STUBBINS died this morning at his home in Mattoon, Ill. He was a brother of Arch Stubbins, of Indianapolis and James and Joseph Stubbins of Ripley Twp and was b. and raised in this County. he belonged to the 18th In battery and had an honorable military record.

John W Stubbins died at the home of his brother, S.T. Stubbins, in Mattoon, ILL Nov 10. Mr. Stubbins was born near Waveland and was a nephew of Samuel Stubbins. He attended the Waveland Academy and then served through the Civil War in the 9th In Battery. Since then he has been engaged in the hotel business at various points he retired in 1900. Death came very suddenly. He leaves a son and daughter.
