Romney - Kenneth R. STOOPS, 67, of Romney, died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette where he had been a patient since July 28. He had been in ill health 4 months. Mr. Stoops was a carpenter for Alcoa Aluminum Co. at Lafayette before retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Aluminum Workers International Union Local 115. Born Jan 30, 1908 in Clay Co he was a son of Charles and Cora West Stoops. He moved to Romney in 1941 and prior to that lived at Lafayette. He was married to Juanita McKee in 1934. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alan Mellady (Rosalee) and Mrs. Roland Bush (Patty); a sister, Mrs. Rula Luther; 8 grandchildren and one great. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Helms Funeral Home, Linden with Rev. Clayton R. Kendall officiating. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Romney. Friends may call at the funeral home
