Louisville Times: The case of Thos. L. Stilwell, ex-mayor of Crawfordsville, who is accused of malicious shooting, was called in the police court this morning and passed until July 3. The reason for the continuance was Lottie Berry’s continued illness at the city hospital. Attorney Aaron Kohn, for the defense, tried to have Stilwell dismissed, as two of the eye witnesses cannot be found and the third, a woman in the hospital, is without character. Judge Buckley refused to dismiss the case until the woman is able to appear. Stilwell is out on $200 bond. The woman is slightly better today, but her death is considered only a matter of a few days or weeks.
Note: This was just a wrong done him - from all the sources I could read it ended-up that he was literally walking by going to his hotel and heard the scream, walked in and the women basically spoofed him and it ended up in a big mess. Pretty sure he never got into trouble once it was all figured out as he returned to Montgomery County and had no more problems
