Stilwell - Mary Gott

Mrs. Mary Jane Stilwell, one of the oldest residents of the city, died at 6 o'clock this morning at her home, 418 S. Washington Street after an illness of six weeks from the infirmities of age. Mrs. Stilwell daughter of Willson and Tabitha Gott, was born September 2, 1833, in Kentucky and came to Indiana with her parents in 1834. On June 12, 1851, she was married to William Allen Stilwell and spent most of her life in this city. She was the mother of four children, two who died in infancy, the late Wallace A. Stilwell of Los Angeles, Calif and Miss Josephine Stilwell of this city. She was left an early widow. Mrs. Stilwell joined the First Presbyterian Church in 1851 under the pastorate of Rev. J.K. Thompson and was a member and faithful attendant of the church as long as her strength permitted. The funeral services will be held at the home Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. G.F. Kenaston. Interment at Oak Hill.
