Those who served in the 63d Regiment, Indiana Vol., will be pained to learn of the death of their old commander, Gen. I. N. Stiles, which occurred at Chicago last week.  General Stiles was formerly a resident of Lafayette and was a prominent figure both at the bar and in politics. He enlisted in the 20th Indiana and afterwards was transferred to the 63d. He was regarded as one of the bravest and most accomplished officers that Indiana sent to war. At the close of his service he took up his residence in Chicago. Several years ago he lost his eyesight through sickness and though totally blind, he was none the less conspicuous as one of the leading citizens of Chicago. -s
