Walter G. Stewart 44, a soldier in Korea, died Sunday of a heart attack, word has been received here by his mother, Mrs. Pearl Stewart 602 Wilson Ave. Stewart, who was born at Mace had been in Korea for a year and was scheduled to return within two months. His body is being shipped to his widow, Oleta at Marrieta GA where funeral services will be conducted. Survivors in addition to his widow and mother include two brothers, Wallace of Crawfordsville and Wilbert of Bainbridge; a sister, Mrs. Olive Long of Waveland; and several nieces and nephews. Stewart served in WWII and was injured during a typhoon. He was discharged after the war and remained out of service for about 5 years before rejoining.
