Darlington, Feb 17 – Walter A. Stewart, 64, died at his home one mile north of Darlington at 9:30 Friday morning. Mr. Stewart, who was well-known as an evangelistic singer, Thursday night had participated in an evangelistic service at the Congregational Christian Church at Linden. Born southeast of Darlington, he married Corda Loiugh of Darlington. He was a retired rural mail carrier with over 40 years service in this capacity. He was a member of Congregational Christian Church, Darlington; the Darlington Armory club and was active in civic life. He is survived by his widow; five sons, Byron of Anderson; Buford, of Acton, Buren and Burl, Darlington and William, Darlington who is an employee of the Lafayette Journal and Courier; two daughters, Mrs. Ned Rowland, Joplin, Mo and Mrs. CW Holmes, who resides at the Stewart family home here; four brothers, Herman of near Darlington; James, Ladoga; Mark, Thorntown and Edgar, Crawfordsville and one sister, Mrs. OC Edwards, Mace – kbz
